Solta Island

This island lies southwest of Split and has an area of 59 square kilometres and less than 1,500 inhabitants. There are many tropical fruits, vineyards and olive trees. The largest bays Rogac and Necujam are exposed to wind; however, Maslinica Bay is protected by a group of small islands and is the best place for water sports.
The towns on the Solta include Stomorska Maslinica as well as Nečujam and Rogac, which are very popular with those seeking a quiet holiday. There is regular ferry service from Solta to Split and the resort Rogač.
